Canning Guru, Marisa McClellan of the blog Food in Jars will be signing her new book of the same name, Food in Jars!
What is a Food Swap? A food swap is sort of like a silent auction for food lovers, till the swapping begins, then it's a like a forager's frenzy! Everyone brings along one or several items (it's recommended to bring 8-12 and it could be several of the same thing) they've made, grown, foraged themselves, such as jam, herbs, fresh eggs, fiber, baked goods, pickles, fresh veggies, granola, cheese, beer, wine, pasta, dry mixes, spices, etc.
UBC Food Swap will provide the space and tables, chairs and cold beverages and plates/napkins/cups and such. We will have name tags and Swap cards for everyone. There will be a free raffle for a cookbook or other item.
Potluck: You are welcome to bring something yummy and savory to share for a late afternoon lunch for our potluck table. We do, after all, like food!
Special Guest: Author and food writer, Marisa McClellan of the blog and book of the same name: Food In Jars, will be joining us after doing a canning demo at the Saucon Valley Farmers Market at the Water Street Park in Hellertown. www.sauconvalleyfarmersmarket.com
